QACC Meeting - Jan. 4th

Queen Anne Community Council Date: Wednesday January 4, 2006 Time: 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm Location: McClure Middle School cafeteria, 1915 1st Avenue W This is an important meeting to attend! Let's show the whole council the community's position. There will be press coverage. Why should I attend? There are a lot of meetings that have happened and are happening this month. I wanted to add some more points why I think it is important to attend this meeting from talking to a number of people. This is on top off all the reasons that we know about (i.e. development to large for our family community, scale issues, infrastructure issues, losing an anchor of the community). 1) The press – Queen Anne News/Seattle PI/Seattle Weekly are planning on attending the meeting (I have yet to hear from komo and Seattle Times). Seattle Weekly was going to publish a story this week, but they put it on hold so they can cover the jan 4th meeting. We need to make sure the press sees the communities continuing level of concern over this development. That will help keep the press focused on this story. 2) Full QACC board – the LURC council saw and heard very clearly the public’s response to this development on December 19th. We need the full QACC board to see and hear it as well. 3)Speaker from Wedgewood – The Chair of the Wedgewood CC will be there talking about what happened when QFC took over the Red Apple Store. Note, this is scheduled for 8:15PM. Note, the QFC/Kroger Development is only one part of the agenda on the QACC Council Meeting.
