Chess Festival on Saturday, June 17
Full Description:
Community members are warmly invited to an informal chess festival on Saturday, June 17 from 10:00-1:00 at the "Old Hay" school site, 411 Boston Street.
The free event includes simultaneous chess games for all ages and levels, informal coaching by chess master Leo Stefurik, prizes, demonstration games on the giant outdoor chessboard, entertainment, and refreshments.
The gathering is co-hosted by Friends of Old Hay and the Secondary Bilingual Orientation Center (SBOC), providing transitional academic support for newly arrived immigrant students.
